My buddies and I love to get drunk and have races. . .but of course, this sometimes means a little damage to the chairs. . .the way I figure, we're having way more fun than any of the old folks in the nursing home ever have with those chairs, so it isn't really wrong. Am I just rationalizing?

Yes I worked in a nursing home as well and you know how sad it can be there. What if you damaged on and that meant less people on the bus for the bus trip. I'm not saying every person that has ever worked in a home hasn't thought about it but you've had your fun, just name the last guy who won the retired ruler of Wheelchair derby. That way you don't have to play anymore.

Does the Chicago Museum of Science & Industry offer any form of transportation, such as electric carts, scooters or wheelchairs for the people who want to enjoy the museum but have walking or breathing problems such as I do.

They don't mention electric scooters:

"Wheelchairs are available at the Henry Crown Space Center entrance. This entrance serves as the entrance for visitors with strollers or disabilities. Wheelchairs are also available in the Great Hall entrance. An ID is required for complimentary use of a wheelchair. "

Even after I read about finding niches, I still don’t what really sells out there. I want to try to make at least $1000 week. Some people have made $10,000 more a week. How outrageous! I want some of that money action…

If you do a search for “mobility scooters”, you can see that there are a lot of ads on Google and a lot of search results. That means that it’s certainly a profitable niche. All you have to do is find the right products to promote.

Best of luck to you!!

I have been wanting to be a astronaut is this the fastest way up there?

try an ACME brand. always seemed to work pretty good for wile e. coyote. almost caught the roadrunner several times, then that durn mountain got in the way…

Any contact details or weblinks would help or a list of manufacturers would be useful to me. I am looking to sell new, reconditioned and also to repair these items.

Friend, if you put "mobility scooters"in your search box and click UK only you will get over 300,000 sites. I have listed some for you below.
You are likely to get best prices from manufacturers but you might need to buy in volume rather than singles.
You might find repair opportunities by setting up your own web site or contacting companies listed as suppliers.
You can also try www.yell.com for suppliers in your local area.

My soon to be daughter (step daughter) is in a wheel chair. I want to get het a power chair lift for a motorized wheel chair for my car, but how do you know what to get? There are so many different kinds! She is 9 yrs old. ANY help would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Yes, because there are so many different kinds of lifts, and vehicles, and chairs – it is best that you consult with SEVERAL mobility specialists. They are profit businesses that are expert in matching the right lift to your needs, but most only deal with certain brands.

It is possible that the vehicle you currently own cannot be fitted with a lift. Whether or not your soon to be stepdaughter can be transferred out of her wheelchair into the car’s regular seat – or a car seat will also effect your decision.

If it is an option, I strongly recommend you get a lift that comes from the rear of your vehicle so you do not have to worry about extra wide parking spaces.

Personally I find the brand BRAUN is excellent.

want to sell a permobil c500 corpus 11 2005 power wheelchair with all the extras. mint condition used 3 months have all paperwork, books and tools everything is powered with battery charger and extra tire tubes. great indoors and out. front wheel drive. mint condition

Put an ad on eBay with a picture and say that it is for local pickup only.

These can be dangerous in the wrong hands. As well as the beacon they should have reversing sounds as someone recently reversed over a man in our local supermarket. He was on crutches so couldn't get away in time and the driver said oh didnt see you there – well they wouldnt as they weren't even looking in the direction they were traveling. They need training on how to drive these things as i see it happening all the time.

I have a business trip in Europe.

does anyone know if someone has ever built a practical solar powered wheelchair? i imagine the issue with building one is the expense and heavy glass solar panels.

I think the biggest issue would be getting enough power without exceeding practical length and width limitations.
